Purpose

Define the responsibilities of Area Coordinators in supporting local member engagement.

Guiding Principle

Area Coordinators create local connection by making it easier for members to engage where they are.

Core Responsibilities

Welcoming Members Reach out to new members and serve as a local contact
Hosting Activities Organize occasional or recurring local events
Connecting Members Help members find and meet others nearby
Supporting New Members Help reduce barriers to attending first events
Sharing Local Insight Provide feedback and local perspective to leadership

Welcoming Members

  • Reach out to new members in their area in addition to the Membership Officer contact
  • Serve as a local point of contact
  • Help members feel included and informed

Hosting Activities

  • Organize or host events in their area
  • Maintain a regular or occasional event cadence
  • Choose activities appropriate for local interest and participation
