Should this page be a fixed header template that we can use for all Local Roles? First 30 days, Regular Tasks Best Practices, Templates and samples, Activities, Major Activities This is definitely going to evolve, but it'd be nice if our pilot set an outline that could be followed for future roles

Role Purpose

Support membership engagement, onboarding, and retention at the local level.

What the Membership Officer Does

  • Welcomes new members
  • Encourages engagement
  • Connects members with group activities
  • Works with leadership to support membership goals
  • ?? Does the membership officer reach out to candidates who have been accepted??/bw

What the Membership Officer Does Not Do

  • Manage national membership systems
  • Set policy
  • Control member participation

How This Role Fits

Local Membership Officer focuses on local connection. The national roles of National membership Officer and staff membership support (actual role name??} focus on strategy and systems.

  1. Working with your ExComm and RVC
  2. Setting expectations with your local board
  3. The philosophy: members who never attend events still matter–all members matter. Phrasing?? Members have different levels of interaction and they all matter, whether or not they attend events or are involved online.

Add some general text but the link is the key part. If we create a "New Members" section of the wiki, that would be part of welcoming new members--directing them to that wiki

Should some of the high-level things (such as New Member Activities) be listed here? What is the best way for LGMO's to find the information?

Need to figure out what resources are LGMO specific and which are general resources that should be on a single page (perhaps the main page of "Local Group Roles") rather than on each Role's page
