Purpose

Provide examples of member spotlights that Local Groups can use to recognize members, celebrate involvement, and help members get to know one another.

Member spotlights help put faces and stories behind the membership roster. The examples below provide simple, repeatable formats that can be adapted for newsletters, websites, social media, and other member communications.

Spotlight Formats and Ideas

Most spotlights include the member's name and (optionally) how long they have been a member.

The ideas below provide different ways to highlight members depending on available space and the type of story being shared.

Tips for Member Spotlights

  • Rotate formats to keep the newsletter fresh
  • Keep a backlog of responses so you’re never scrambling
  • Edit lightly for clarity, but keep the member’s voice
