Should this page be a fixed header template that we can use for all Local Roles? First 30 days, Regular Tasks Best Practices, Templates and samples, Activities, Major Activities This is definitely going to evolve, but it'd be nice if our pilot set an outline that could be followed for future roles

What the Membership Officer Does

Should some of the high-level things (such as New Member Activities) be listed here? What is the best way for LGMO's to find the information? Link to local group calendar ? or that would be different each group so no. LB

Communicate available local group activities. Some groups have a Calendar or Programs officer. Membership Officer might invite new members or lapsed members LB

Provide renewal reminders if Loc Sec does not LB

Add some general text but the link is the key part. Is this its own topic or does it fall under engaging new members? It might be part of

What the Membership Officer Does Not Do ( not sure we need this section LB)

  • Manage national membership systems
  • Set policy ( very broad LB)
  • Control member participation

How This Role Fits (With Other Roles LB)

Local Membership Officer focuses on local connection. The national roles of National membership Officer and staff membership support (actual role name?? Is it Local Group Services Coordinator LB} focus on strategy and systems.

  2. Working with the National Office staff
  3. Setting expectations with your local board

I like this, but should we move it to top as Membership Officer Mission Statement? LB

Need to figure out what resources are LGMO specific and which are general resources that should be on a single page (perhaps the main page of "Local Group Roles") rather than on each Role's page
