Purpose

Days 31–60 are about moving from understanding to improving.

You’ll begin to clarify processes, make small improvements, and build consistency in your role.

Success in this phase means things are working more reliably — without requiring constant effort.

Focus

  • Stabilize what you’ve learned
  • Improve clarity and consistency
  • Make small, meaningful changes
  • Build confidence in your role

Weeks 5–6: Create Clarity

Document What You’ve Learned

  • Write down recurring tasks
  • Note where information is stored
  • Capture informal knowledge before it’s lost

Confirm Expectations

  • Check in with your board or key contacts
  • Ask: “Am I focusing on the right things?”
  • Clarify any unclear responsibilities with your board

Weeks 7–8: Improve Consistency

Strengthen Core Processes

  • Standardize how you complete recurring tasks
  • Use or create simple checklists
  • Make communication more predictable
  • Determine how to personalize and track communications

Reduce Friction

  • Simplify confusing steps
  • Clarify unclear messaging
  • Organize scattered information

Look for Quick Wins

Focus on changes that are:

  • Easy to implement
  • Low risk
  • Immediately helpful

Examples:

  • Improving a welcome message
  • Creating a simple tracking method
  • Making event information clearer

Begin Light Collaboration

  • Coordinate more actively with other officers
  • Share useful ideas or improvements
  • Ask for feedback on what you’re doing

By Day 60, You Should Have Consistency

  • A consistent welcoming process
  • Clearer and more reliable communication
  • Basic documentation of your role
  • A few improvements that are already helping

What You Still Don’t Need to Do

  • Overhaul major systems
  • Launch large new initiatives
  • Solve every existing challenge

Common Pitfalls

  • Changing too much at once
  • Adding complexity instead of reducing it
  • Taking on too many new ideas
  • Working in isolation

If You Feel Stuck

Focus on:

  • One improvement at a time
  • What will make the biggest immediate difference
  • Asking for input from others

Next Step

Once things feel stable, move to:
