Should this page be a fixed header template that we can use for all Local Roles? First 30 days, Regular Tasks Best Practices, Templates and samples, Activities, Major Activities This is definitely going to evolve, but it'd be nice if our pilot set an outline that could be followed for future roles
The Role
- What the local membership officer does (and doesn't do), What is a membership officer responsible for? (what do they do)
Role Purpose
Support membership engagement, onboarding, and retention at the local level.
What the Membership Officer Does
- Welcomes new members
- Encourages engagement
- Connects members with group activities
- Works with leadership to support membership goals
What the Membership Officer Does NOT Do
- Manage national membership systems
- Set policy
- Control member participation
- How local membership officer differs from the National Membership Officer and Membership Director (how it fits in)
How This Role Fits
Local Membership Officer focuses on local connection. National roles focus on strategy and systems.
- Working with your ExComm and RVC
- Setting expectations with your local board
- The philosophy: members who never attend events still matter–all members matter
Membership Office Activities
